... dealing with people in general (unless I think they're very trustworthy), kids in general (including my little brother), not having a job in years, waking up early in the morning to take my driver's license-less mom to work.
Why didn't anyone tell me about this about this thread before. I discovered it two nights ago. I was actually crazy enough to read all 194 pages of assorted BS with most of it being funny.
I hate family members who screw up my trash & recycling system (they started this rant [again]). It ain't that hard to do it my way ! There is a reason why I do things my way in this case ! So, in protest (a few months ago) I stopped taking out the trash & recycling except for taking them both to the street.
I try my best to recycle all glass & the #'s 1-7 plastic (the city takes those via a trash & recycling company). But, I have a separate metal sorting system (which is the only thing that they don't screw up much with). Steel & Iron (small can) & aluminum cans, pans, foil (a big can) that I'll take to the scrap metal place to make a small amount of money with. The other metals like brass & copper I don't have much of yet. But, I'll deal with that later.
i used to separate and recycle, till i was in the landfill one day a few years back and saw the recycle pickup truck come in and dump it's load in the landfill. and it was the same truck that picks up my development. after that day, it all goes into the trash can.
Only things i recycle is empty can's wether it be beer or soda, then i got a 6x12 Dump trailer setting to the side of old steel peice/truck parts that are broken/no good once its full ill hook to it and haul all that stuff to the scrapper to make some change

Oh my... Either they're ripping off the government or they're doing it wrong. It is horrible to mix them together & let it sit when they can be turned into something else while saving energy...

I use trash bags (13 & 39 gallon sizes) & set them aside until I got enough bags to load them into the back of People Carrier [look in the signature below] with the last two rows folded down (load contents [normal]: 5 - 39 gallon bags of aluminum & 1 - 13 gallon bag of steel & iron).

Normally when i go ive got the dump trailer full of steel (normally3-4000#) and the bed of the truck full of copper/alum/battery's/cans I normally like to have atleast a $500 run when i go, i actually need to now, got bout 5 55 gallon trash bags of mostly smashed cans, and the trailer is slam full and a pile has started next to it

Wow... that is a lot metal. During my last run to the metal recyclers I made $12.
I stop crushing my cans because it is time consuming & it hurt my feet after a while. But, the last time I did that I managed to fit 60 pounds of aluminum in a 55 gallon bag :Winning! .
