Let me be the first to welcome you to FTE. There is no better place to seek advice about your truck and fortunately(assuming you're in the right forum) there is not a better group of guys(and the occasional lady) on the whole site.
A little advice-Be specific about what you are saying. If you have a question or need help then say just that. I figure you're probably asking what's up with the tank switch though.
The switch can go out and cause the the tanks to not be swapped regardless of the switch position. As far as troubleshooting it, I'm not sure as I've never had that problem but that's the beauty of this forum. Someone will be along very shortly who can tell you exactly what to do to diagnose it and how to go about fixing the problem.
Again welcome bud and good luck.

The in dash switch for switching tanks actually controls a small motor in the fuel tank selector valve. It is located on the frame, drivers side. Inside there the motor also controls a switch that determines which fuel sending unit is connected to the fuel gauge. You are correct fuse #6 15A controls both the AC clutch and the fuel selector valve. So it sounds like the motor is not moving. If you crawl under there and have someone switch tanks you should be able to hear the motor move. If not try tapping on the unit with a handle end of a screwdriver while switching tanks.

Does the tank selector valve also switch the fuel return line from tank to tank as well? also i have 2 electronic valves on the frame rail for the fuel. the reason i ask is because when i switch tanks i get a fuel level reading, i hear one valves switching, however my return line is plugged and so is my fuel inlet to the lift pump.. is it possable that the switch is stuck in the middle plugging the lines?
