Depends. If the new tank is installed incorrectly, and allows water to leak into the fuel system causing fuel system failure, then yes, that damage shouldnt be eligible for warranty repair.
If something unrelated fails within warranty, that would not be affected.
My Ford dealer said they would make the switch and re-calibrate the fuel level sensor so the displays are correct. Asked if it would void the warranty, they said no. I'm going to get it in writing when the time comes. Something to consider .....
I'd like to do it myself, so I guess the best course of action is either to ask the dealer or just do it and expect nothing to go wrong with that particular system.
The install seems so simple, I'd hate to have to pay dealer prices.
I'd love to hear from someone that's done it themselves, had the dealer recalibrate the DTE and the has gone back with a warranty covered issue.
To much to ask for
