Just got around to playing with Autoenginuity today. ran it on my 2002 buzz test worked and CC and it was successful or passed whatever.
ran it on my 2000. truck is hard to start. smokes. misses and has some blowby. i don't know if it is dusted or what. when it warms up it starts right up and smoke lessens.
Anyway i ran a buzz test I heard relay click but no buzzing at all!!!!
can't do a cct because my starter went but i did a buzz test. i heard a relay click and then nothing
did buzz test and nothing.
got cylinder
1 p1271 hi to low side open
2 p1272 hi to low side open
7 p1277 hi to low side open
3 p1273
so on and so on
and p1293 injector high side open bank 1
how can they all be dead?? is this a bad IDM???
Maybe battery is dead???
How the heck did engine run if injectors didn't buzz??

Don't know what the clicking sound is, but the rest of this sounds like it might be worn injectors. If you do the buzz test 10 or 20 times in a row during the warmest part of the afternoon, do the injectors start to buzz? If you plug the truck in overnight and run a buzz test the next day, do the injectors buzz?
maybe that click is the injectors trying to buzz. no i never tried it warm but i'll try it tomorrow. i pulled the passenger valve cover a few weeks ago. i'll run under the hood and try to listen for something.
My money's on your IDM. I got the high to low side open on all 8 cylinders after doing a buzz test too on AE. My truck is also missing. I swapped IDM's from a known good truck from a fellow FTE member and my engine codes disappeared and the engine miss was very slight with the good IDM in there.
well luckily i have another one i could swap out. Why do u still have a miss?
I think there is still an electrical goblin I'm going to be chasing for a while. I have my old IDM back in there casing all kinds of issues. A new 120v one is on it's way from Clay over at RiffRaff Diesel.
ok i swapped IDMs. a early 99 will work on a newer truck but it's 110volts says it on the idm. the newer idm is 120volts. early 99 will run the buzz test but throws codes after
CID LOW,IDM failue, Injector high side open bank 1. did it on both 2000 and 2002 trucks after buzz test.
Put my 2000 IDm in 2002 and it worked fine CCT and BUZZ came back successful.
Well i checked my Valve cover plug on the passenger side and it was disconnected!!! I don't know if i did it because i was going to run a compression test. Would the truck run with the whole passenger side out??
Anyway i plugged it in and did the buzz test. i got a lud buzz on the initial simultaneous buzz. then it buzzed them individually 3 and 5 were loud.rest of them were all faint. i got the same message after buzz test was completed. all cylinders high to low fault.
Well next stop is to pull pass side covers run compression test and check UV harness.
