'95 Bronco XLT is mising the under the hood jack that came with the truck. Other than the $150 replacement from the dealer, does anyone have any better suggestions on a replacement jack. Looking for something that can be stowed out of the way, like the original.
Skip the factory replacement - get a hydraulic bottle jack. They're 10x faster, and MUCH easier to use. You won't be able to store it in the original location, but after you use it once, you won't mind. The whole truck only weighs 2.5 tons, so the smallest one you can find will be plenty big to lift 1 wheel at a time. I use a 4-ton just because.
Skip the highlift, unless you spend the extra $$ and get a really good one - I bought one last weekend, and took it back today after it bent on the first lift. The thing was supposed to lift 8000lbs - yeah, right. The beam itself looks like this ) now!! I'm going for the bottle myself.

Forget the bottle jacks and all that other mess and definintely go with the High-Lift. The top of the line 60" model is only about $70 or so and is a great jack. It can also be used as a mighty effective winch in a pinch. My vote would have to be for the High-Lift.
If you can find a factory jack real cheap, why not do that? It can be stored in its place out of the way, and then you'd have it for an emergency. Then get yourself a good bottle jack too.
I also have a '95 and the original jack was completely rusted to the point that it wouldn't move. I just got one at the local salvage yard - the F150 had the same jack, so if you can't find a Bronco in the yard, look for the more common pickup. I paid $25 for the jack, mount and handle.
