2008 F350 blowing smoke 11K miles

It was pointed out to me yesterday that my truck was blowing black smoke right after start-up when cold. I had my friend rev it up for me and sure enough it is. Smells fuel rich. The truck has 11k Miles on it. It is over the three year basic but still has powertrain warranty on it. I'm thinking possible leaking injector(s). I was also thinking of trying a fuel purge as this truck does not get worked hard very often and its normal trips are around 10-15 miles a day total. This only happens when cold that I've noticed. Any thoughts? Does anyone know off-hand if the injectors are covered under powertrain warranty as well? The dealers around here are being very vague on the subject and I cant get a black/white answer from them....

Thanx as always!

It's a goner.

If you want to sell it real cheap I might be interested.

Would it be worth it to try an injector cleaner additive? Its hard to figure with only 11K on it that anything would have worn out!

Fuel injector cleaner.

A tank of fresh gas and drive the darn thing. The gas now adays does not store well at all.

Tractors, Boats and lawn equipment has a terrible time because the gas is going bad.

A three year old truck with onlu 11000 miles is likely to have the same problems.

I'd check the fuel pressure. Something is not right.

Thanx guys. I am leaning towards the fuel purge idea, I had one of my techs pull the plugs yesterday afternoon and none of them were wet so I'm thinking carbon may be the culprit here... I'm doing a full purge today and adding a heavy duty injector cleaner to the tank. Hopefully that works, I'll keep you posted.
