Exclamation step by step thermostat replacement please

Could someone please give me a step-by-step removal and replacement of the thermostat in my 76 dent? My radiator sprung a leak, so I'm replacing/fixing the radiator, and replacing the thermostat. It's a got 73 390 2bbl. Appreciated greatly.

On my 460;

Unbolt t-stat housing (2 bolts)
Take out t-stat
Put in new t-stat
Put on new gasket or RTV the surfaces
Bolt t-stat housing back on.

Make sure the T-stat is in the center or it may not seal up and will leak. Other wise ,follow the instructions ' ATC CRAZY ' left.

No offense man, but if you can't afford a Haynes manual, you really need to step back and think about whether or not old Ford pickups are a hobby you want to take on. If this is your only means of transportation, it's much more cost-effective to drop $700 on an early 90's Ford Escort. This truck is only going to get more expensive. I'm not trying to be "that guy;" I'm only trying to pass on realistic advice. I say this because this kind of situation has come up many times over the years and it's very difficult to give advice when the person on the receiving end doesn't have the means to follow through. Take that for what it's worth; more power to you though.

that was kinda my thoughts. on another note, google and the search function here are your friend. check with your public library. the one here in mesa not only has haynes and chiltons that are able to be checked out , but they have fsm's , and mitchell on demand on the computer.

t-stat replacement is really easy to figure out. only advise i give is pay attention to how the old one came out. pay attention to the little wheep hole too.

just replaced it... turns out I ran my truck for about a month without a T-stat before the radiator blew... Easy as pie!
