Aluminum intake/Headers?

What kind (brand/model) aluminum intake should i get for my 351m/400? It is just stock 2bbl right now and i am going to get a 4bbl (not sure what brand yet). Also where is the best place to order one from? I also want to add headers but not sure what brand to get or what kind to get. My truck is a 77 f250 ranger 4x4.

What kind of power are you looking for, torque, high end?

For what it's worth....
My stock 302 in my '74 F100 originally came with a cast iron intake and a Motorcroaft 2 BBL.
I replaced the cast iron exhaust manifolds with Flo-Tech headers. (They have a solid 1/4" mounting flange to keep from developing exhaust leaks.)
I replaced the intake with an Edelbrock Performer 289 aluminum intake.
I also replaced the carb with a brand new Holley 600 cfm 4 bbl.

I will note this: I installed all this on August 1, 2009 the week before Old Blue went to the body shop for paint. Blue spent from August until NEw Years in the body shop and ran fine to move around inside and around the shop. I picked Blue up and within 35-40 miles of driving the new Holley carb began flooding the engine at will. It occured at idle or 50 MPH. No rhyme or reason. I had my mechanic look at it and he determined that the new $300 Holley was sucking fuel around the metering block. You could adjust the air/fuel mix all the way in or out and there was no change in the way it ran (or attempted to run). I contacted Holley and they advised the warranty was only 90 days.
I sent it back and said they found nothing wrong. I installed the carb again...same problem. I have argued with Holley and they refuse to replace or refund (they no longer allow the retailer to warranty items) my $300.
I have since picked up a used (7 year old Holley 600) and had it rebuilt. I installed it and the truck has been running perfect.
My point is don't get a Holley, their customer service sucks. Either get a used Holley (older style) and have it rebuilt or get a new Edelbrock carb.
I'm happy with my performance on the older carb and also have a really nice and shiny Holley 600 paperweight.

I run edelbrock on the top end (intake carb) and the cheap *** jcwhitney generic headers.. headers are 5 years old no holes yet

I have had no problems with any of them ordered it all from jc whitney cuz its cheap

also think about the cam upgrade IMO its a waste to upgrade the breathing with out it.

I will be upgrading the cam to a mild performance cam at a later time. I guess I am looking to get more hp out of it. Doesnt really matter to me if it is highend or torque. The truck has alot of torque as it is so i guess highend. Im not sure on the headers as far as clearence goes. Should i get shortys of full length? Is there any other header options i should look into? Also should i get a non egr intake or an egr intake? I have a egr vavle on it right now.

i'd say run a holley carb. i had both and my edelbrock carbs sucked.. a holley just makes better power and runs crisper, the eddy's always have a dead spot. at least both of mine did and i could never tune it out, my holley worked great thou..

no they dont need to be paired but think about your timing chain when you do that you should pair that

as for headers mine are full length
