Where is the location of the OEM EOT sensor? Seems like that general location is where you'd want to place your aftermarket sensor to get comparable readings as those using the scan gauge/Insight/Dashhawk.

There are two sensors on the oil cooler. Passenger side is a two wire sending unit for the EOT to the PCM....driver side is a single wire for the gauge EOP. I managed to "T" the OEM EOP sensor and add a temp sensor from my glowgauge. I did not want to move the OEM EOT sensor because the placement is important and it goes directly to the PCM....WAY TOO MANY THINGS DEPEND ON THAT BEING ACCURATE!!!!

Some reputable people on this site said it wouldn't work because a temp bulb needs to be in flowing liquid etc etc. With the readings I originally posted, I believed them and fell into the "these guys must know because they have several thousand plus posts". I could not leave it alone and just be a sheep.

I did more research and took a chance guessing..........called glowgauge and explained the situation and payed for a second EOT temp gauge assy to be sent to me and once they receive my old one they'd credit me 50.00.....the original gauge had a color difference that I didnt like and figured I could swap the temp sender as well........gauge and/or sending unit were defective . I installed both and VOILA the old reading of 184*even after 100 miles gone. EOT seems to be at ECT or a little above. As far as I know I am the first to try it and it seems like it worked. Without a second reference (scangauge) to verify I can only assume it is correct. I had the oil cooler replaced shortly before I went with an EGR cooler delete so it should be cooling efficiently.

Lesson learned....there are alot of knowedgeable people on this site, but don't fall victim to ABSOLUTES because you think the person giving you information is correct.
Just my opinion..nothing more nothing less
