Dieselmanor has them. They are a sponsor. You could also thread the factory cap if you desire.

I threaded the factory filter cap for my Oil PSI gauge, although I'm seriously considering a billet cap.

You mean to say that the plastic is strong enough to have a tapped port in the top for the Engine Oil Temperature? If so That is the route I am taking. The Billet Aluminum Oil Filter Cap is about $115.00. What size whole to drill and size of tap for the sender?

Mine's lasted the 3 yrs that I had that gauge tapped into the stock cap. How much longer it can hold that, I don't know, but so far it's held it very well. Now just my luck after having said that, it takes dump on me.

I myself would be leary about threading and using the plastic cap. Murphy's law is that if it fails it will be at the most in-oportune time possible.

Well it's worth a try. I will in the mean time look for a Billet Filter Cap that's alitle cheaper then 115. So now I know where my EGT probe will be installed and how I'll do it.I have the information for the Fuel pressure sender and how I will install. Just gey enough info on the EOT sender and where. Now I think I know where the ECT port is located, on the drivers side block.

Do you remember the tap size? Or should I just get the whole set?

Tap I can't exactly remember, the sender and adapter/fitting I can remember(it helps though that they are standard sizes), but the tap I cannot. For me, 3 yrs is a good while ago.

Tex I took you advice and adapter a little extra security in my EOT sender.

check

On the under side of the cap I added a small brass nut to hold the sender incase the plastic was too weak to hold on th the threading.

Stll working on my fuel pressure sender.

I switched the senders= same readings. I switch the gauges= same readings. I have come to the conclusion that my senders are fine. My gauges are fine but it's the location of the EOT sender. Where else can I place it to get an accurate reading? Everyone says they use the oil filter cap. Is it because I tapped into the OEM plastic cap, and I should use the bullet metal cap instead?
Any suggestions out there?

Bud,

As I mentioned before --- accuracy is in the eye of the beholder.

What you need the the temperature reading for has a huge bearing on where you measure it, and how you interpret the readings.

If you want to go NASA on is, you put 50 temperature sensors in different locations, and then come up with a software application to interpret what each of them, and collectively all of them, are telling you.

listen gearloose1, all I want to do is monitor my temps and to be able to correct an issue before it turns into a large $$$. Before I can do that I need to know if my gauges are responding in a manor that it should. Before I can do that I need to know (for future reference) am I getting the proper readings from the proper locations as everyone else. Because in the future if an issue arrises I will be coming back here for any help in resolving my problems.
That's why I would like to know where everyone is measuring there temps by use of gauges. This way I can compare there temps to mine and know if a problem is starting to surface.
To respond to your statement that "accuracy is in the eye of the beholder", well accuracy is measured by gauges with samples of others to compare with.

Thanks for the reply anyway.
