03 Rear Diff Seal Leaking

03 Rear Diff Seal Leaking

I just noticed a leak at the diff where the axle hole is. I have searched the forums and only found leaking axle seal posts regarding the solid rear axle years. Has anyone took on this job, and if so, heres my questions: Is this something that is easy to do in a driveway? Are there any tricks? Is there anything else that should be replaced while down there? Thanks

I'm not sure what you mean by an "axle hole"?

the hole in the diff where the cv axle goes in.

I know that in 2003 there was a seal problem on the IRS in the Explorers, so they my have the same issue. There is a redesigned seal for them. I changed one out on my wife's Explorer and it was not that big of a deal to do. The biggest issue was getting the old seal out.
