WANTING TO CONVERT, ALLREADY HAVE TO BUY TRANSMISSION so i figured y not upgrade. i know all the mechanical issues, im just wondering about wiring etc. i checked on it and the same computer is used on 2x4 an 4x4, and i will be using manual T-case, and the dash not showing 4x4 lights i cld care less about, owned an 88 bronco for 4 yrs never had them i think i'll manage!!

your close they are 90% the same stuff. but that last 10% will kill you lol.
This was something people used to do on some trucks but it was phased out back in the mid 90's once the computers and some of the other parts started to change.
I remember at some point reading an article where a guy took I think a 91 Lighting and made it 4WD but that was one of the only ones I every read about.

the lightening was introduced in 1993 to compete with the gmc syclone and, primarily, the chevrolet 454 SS.
there was never a lightening for the 8th gen which went til '91. fwiw.
OK well whatever year it was it was still a Lighting the guy converted to a 4WD. I remember that because at the time (not sure if Ford has started doing it or not now) the Lighting only came in 2WD.
