I plan to install a Superlift 3" kit in the next couple of weeks. My haynes manual shows a torque spec of 369ft lbs (2000) for the track bar bolts on both ends. Holy ****e!! My torque wrench only goes to 250.
The kit comes with a "track bar relocating bracket". Does this bracket just relocate the factory one or does it replace it? If it just relocates it can I do that without removing the track bar from the brackets?
I don't want to spend the extra cash on a big daddy torque wrench that I'll never use again.
My 4" procomp replaced the factory one, but we basically put the snap on impact on high and cranked em down. Use some loctite on them if you have any worries.
You're probably going to get the alignment checked anyway so why not let them torque it to spec. Get them as tight as you can at home and then head straight to the shop.
I did the lift on my truck back in 05. Superlift 4", I took everything apart by hand and put it all back together by hand, no air tools and no torque wrenches. I just used the same length "cheater" to put it back together as I used to take it apart. Nothing ever came apart.
