Hah I see the easy entry/easy exit will be available after Nov 1 - I had posted about that not working in my truck when I first bought it. No wonder it didn't work!
Is something like that flash upgradeable/programmable or is there hardware involved as well?
Also is the rear window defroster going to be available to install after Nov. 1 or are they talking only about dealer ordered factory availability?

So I called my dealer, and again the maintenance manager has no clew about the Reflash for my F250 diesel. I explained the whole story to him about the horespower upgrade and torque. Also all the other issues and before it was over I almost lost my temper. I asked him nicely to check on it and he replied , I quote" There has to be a complaint with your new truck or I can't look at it". I'm going to the dealer and talk to him in person and take the all the articles pretaining to the reflash. I hope things get better between the manager I me . This is not starting out well.
There's an implied improvement in mpg that comes along with the increased output, based on how the message from Ford is worded. Has anyone enough experience both pre- and post-flash to comment on that aspect?
Yep, around 700 miles worth. I have over 9000 miles on the truck now. Mileage is so tightly tied to the operators driving habits that it is difficult to quantify accurately. I have gained more than a half a mpg with the new flash running empty. I hope to hook up the fiver this weekend. I am even happier with the truck now.
Thanks, rickatic! Perhaps we'll approach a local dealer about the flash. Our MSOs were from the latter part of July (I haven't looked at the build date on the trucks), so we surely don't have the flash done unless the dealer did it and forgot to tell us.
On the one hand, my opinion is that more hp out of an engine this size just means worse longevity. OTOH, better mpg helps with the budget right now, and may save enough to pay for replacements before expiration.
