Bear claw latches
Any of you guys know of a donor car which uses bear claw type latches which are similar to all the after market types? I have access to a boneyard to get parts cheap and don't want to have to hunt around in two plus feet of snow on saturday try to find some.
Also, anyone know of a selonoid such as a power lock selonoid which activates when power is applied and retracts when power is cut from it? I'm doing suicide doors and want to make a couple of safty latches so the doors cannot pop open while I'm driving. I was thinking of activating it when the ignition key is turned on and deactivating when the key is switched off.

I also believe that the selonoid would fry, I was just using that as an example. I was hoping someone would know of a vehicle which would use a selonoid which functions as I described. I can't think of one off the top of my head. I'm sure I could do something if I designed a circuit to control it but I thought there may be something already designed for that use.

there are some manual pin type door latches ... seen them in Street Rodder for sure... lots of that type door in 30's cars...
check some of the vendors in Street rodder... usually in the billet boy stuff..
