Quick door lock question...
The key on my passenger door lock travels through a full 180 degrees between locking and unlocking the door. The new barrel I have - for the driver's side - will only travel through 90 degrees. (It sounds fairly obvious as I'm typing this and reading it back,) but is there a problem with the new barrel? Should the key be able to rotate 180 also? As it is, there is not enough rotation to lock the door. Just so you know, I've just fitted a bear claw latch kit on that side, but I'm hesitating fitting the lock until I've figured this bit out.
Thanks in advance.
There was a post with exactly the same question some months ago, because of some stupid rule you can not use the search feature until you have 25 posts so I will try and see if I can find it.
when you get a moment and so that you are more assured of getting a answer maybe you could put your location in the cp user profile, then we know where you are and can help better,..... and you might also develop a signature line with the year and model and other info so that we don’t have to guess on the info or look at your profile (because we are too lazy).

If it works then great. But if not, you have to turn the bolt ont helock 90 degrees before you install it in the door because it free floats some efore tunring. Just read the link an it will explain it. If you still have a problem, let us know I have a couple more links to previous discussions. But, this is a common problem - not to worry.

MSRP: $31.08 // PARTSGUYED.COM price: $22.38.

The cylinder has a link that fits on its back side, it sorta resembles the number 4. Illustrated in Dennis Carpenter's 1948/56 truck catalog along with the lock cylinders as #F.
If the link breaks (and this was once very common), you can turn the key around and around until Armaggedon comes...nothing will happen.
