48-52 F1's - Questions for anyone who's installed bear claw latches in their truck.
I have a set of small latches purchased yrs ago, but would like to now use power bear claw latches if possible.
Sitting here at work I was googling for the best price and found an install write up that warned of the space available for these power latches.
Seems the window channel could be an issue for the power latches, anyone installed any of these power latches in an F1 that would like to share their experience.
I found nothing pertaining to my question searching on ** "POWER" ** bear claw latches (ones w/attached pulls), I think they are relatively new, heance I posted the question.
The simple answer is that "it all depends". There are various latches available on the market today, some have an integrated solenoid and some do not. If you buy one with an integrated solenoid then you are confining yourself to an installation that must make room for this device. However, most all Altman style latches being sold today are cable activated...which means that you can run a cable to them from a number of locations within the confines of the door cavity. I have personal experience with the Altman latches and find them VERY well constructed with a double latching mechanism.
