Type Oil for Cold Weather?
My E99 F350 PS will have to spend the winter outside cause there just ain't room in the garage.
Temps will be down to 40 below. I will keep it plugged in.
What kind of engine oil will help reduce the cold start damage?

5w-40 Syn Rotella or any other 5w-40 syn will do the job nicely for you. Plugging in an hour or two before you start is a good idea at those temps for sure! Where the heck are you located???

with it plugged in and 5W40 you will be just fine, just remember to add some antigel to the fuel and she should light up every time...at 40 below I wonder if you will need a transmission heater?

Yeah, a trans heater is needed. I didn't mention it because I took it for granted. The same with battery heaters. Even an interior heater is a good idea if you let the truck set for long.
I work a two weeks on two weeks off shift up on the pipe line. It is not unusual for the trucks to be left running all winter if they set outside that far north.
