it is the model of the transfer case, should be tag on it that gives a bunch of numbers, not sure what year your truck is but mine is a 96 so my transfer case is a 4407. I forget what the other model is, I think it starts with a 3.
Like i said. Never heard of it. Who makes it. i know they had NP 208, BW 1345 and BW 1356
I was wrong on what number I guessed that the other model transfer case started with, it would be starting with the number 1.
My other problem is that I bought a used yoke from a guy that doesn't fit my T case out put shaft, the yoke inside diameter for the shaft is smaller then mine. I called him last night and he said that that it came off a T case from a 97 F350 dually that has the plate over the side of it for the pto option. Is the pto T case a completely different animal so the 4x4 output shaft is smaller? He said it is the fixed shaft on the main drive shaft like what my 96 has.

I have "heard" that the 350 t-cases are different than the F250 ones even though they are both 1356. Yet i ave also hear they are the same and you just have to "persuade" the front yolk on to the front shatf. I have never tried switch ing yolks. I am lucky enough to have several F350 t-cases
I am guessing that the 1356 is the earlier model T case and the 4407 came in the later year obs 3/4 and 1 tons. Wish I could buy the yoke new but that does not appear to be an option any more. I will try and post a pict of them.
Here is a picture of my 1996 f250 yoke and the 1997 f350 yoke that came from a dually that the t case had the pto cover on the side. The 96 is on the left.
