No it is just splined slides over the out put shaft. There is a nut that threads on the end of the shaft. You will probably need a puller to slide the yoke off.
I haven't pulled mine off yet but I did for the d60 shaft because o had to change the seal. I used a puller for that but might have been able to tap it off.
All good, It is info that someone should be able to use.
What I want to know is someone in another thread said they thought that f350 springs for a 460 are different length then diesel engine f350 springs. I would imagine spring rates are different. Ford could of changed length maybe after a certain model year but not sure.
Here's my high jack
I don't think you can increase the gvw. The tag on the door jamb says what it says and no one ( weight checkers, government, whatever you want to say) is going to care or know any better about what you did to the truck.
I found a complete front mono-beam for a $1000.00. Found the drivers side braket at a place in Beaver Dam, WI., they had 136 of them (bought out Ford's overstock). I'll try to find the receipt and post thier info soon. I shortened my front drive shaft 1 1/2" and it bolted right back in. The sway bar mounting can be used from the truck to the replacement axle, but you need a longer (1") bar. I went down to the local race shop and bought two hiemies and a track bar, worked perfect. I had allready put the one ton springs in previous. Took about 8 hours to pull the old and bolt up the new, well with a few brakes and some shop bull****ting.......good luck and have fun.
Central Minnesota. Off Road 4X4 building is not huge here, but it is existent. I have not even looked at prices around here yet.
My still unanswered question is if I put a 1 ton front axle and brakes on my 250 diesel, ( It already has 1 ton rear springs) can I get the legal GVW increased??? Since I understand that the HD 250 shares the same frame with a 350, can I increase the legal GVW???????
The D60 solid axle swap is a direct bolt in. You need the axle, steering linkage, panhard bar, panhard bracket, F350 springs(diesel from 85.5-97). The front f250 drive shaft will work but it needs to be shortened. As stated above 95, 96, 97 all have the same caliper you currently have. But you can use any D60 from 85.5-91(king pin), 92-97(ball joint). If the calliper is differnt just use what caliper that is on the used axle and transfer the brake hose to it.
O and while a RSK will give you a nice ride It makes mounting a snowplow a real PITA
You cant raise the GVW of a vehicle . Only the manufacture can do that
Part of the package was the truck was recertified at a 10,000 pound GVW.
The only thing they changed was instead of 235/85-16 E tires the new label states 265/75-16 E tires.
That got an increase from 9,900 pounds to 10,000 pounds.
My next question, why would you want to recertify your truck at a heavier GVW?
Don't know about your state, but I have my 86 250 registered at 20,000 pounds.
No one has ever looked at the certification label, they only want to see the registration weight to see what you are paying for weight wise.
Locally D 60 axles are scarce, 1500 was the best I could find one for when I swapped the 44 out of my 250.
As for the slide pins, what a joke.
I have had several of them slide/fall out over the years.
I am in the middle of doing it now, the ttb is out and putting the brackets in. I may end up do the 250 shaft route because the guy I bought the 350 transfer case yoke from is the wrong one for my transfer case even though I told him I have the 4407 one.

Thanks guys, I got all my questions answered for now. I want to up the GVW so I can legally pull a larger trailer for work. they can get pretty **** about weight limits here, if you get the wrong officer.
