i just called Citi (lienholder that was paid off on aug. 30th) and after i got bounced to 7 different people and departments, i was told first that it was mailed to their customer, then i was told it wasnt mailed at all and if i could have all sorts of paperwork faxed over i could get it overnighted to me.
i called USAA(my loan bank), an english speaking friendly woman reviewed the details with me, called citi, and found that they mailed the title to my address via snail mail last friday. 7-10 days starting last friday i should have my title. meanwhile i make my first truck payment in a few days because it has been a friggen month already.
im never buying a vehicle with a lien on it again, at least not when citi is the lienholder.
usaa has been so great to work with they would probably delay the start date for my payments if i asked. not really their fault at all, they overnighted EVERYTHING to me and citi and have done everything possible to streamline the process. i have the money and dont need the loan hanging over my head so ill be paying, but it is annoying making payments on something i dont have yet. i think the big problem is that citi got bought out by some blablahblah bank i never heard of, about the same time i paid his loan off. i think all transactions and mailings got pushed off for layoffs and restructuring/merger BULLSHIAT, ultimately resulting the the soiling of my wheaties.
Wow, that is rough. USAA is absolutely a great bank to deal with. Hands down the best I personally have ever had to deal with. I have also dealt with Citi. Quite possibly the exact opposite greatness of USAA.
