Ok, I understand now. Another item to check if the transmission still acts like it is slipping is the MLPS (Manual Lever Position Sensor). This is an input to tell the PCM where the shifter positon is at. If it sends the wrong info the PCM could be telling the trans. the wrong thing to do. If the MLPS signal is out of range it will pop an error code, but in some cases the MLPS can still have issues without flagging a code. The MLPS will not affect the rough running engine problem.

The MLPS is located on the driver side of the transmission. Check/clean the connections to it.

If the computer says it's getting proper signals from all the sensor, you can rule them out as the cause of the roughness, that's a good thing.

Update:

My issue endedup being the PCM. I happened to have one that I purchased with a superchip. I put it in because I kept having the issue intermittently. It has been four months now and it has not happened since.

Good news. What I want to know is, how do you know when it's bad or going bad?
