I started my truck to leave for the eye doctor's and my brake and abs lights stayed on. This is really strange because I haven't had a light on this truck in the last month that I have owned it. After about 8 blocks I noticed I didn't have any blinkers either. I don't know if I had brake lights or not becuase I was in the truck. After I got to the eye doctor's I popped the hood and checked fluid levels and everything checked out good, everything was at max. When I started the truck to leave the eye doctor's no lights stayed on, blinkers worked, everything was back to normal. Does anyone have any idea whats going on? Do I have a sensor of some sort going out? A fuse maybe? Any thoughts shared greatly appriciated.
That happened to me one time.. Believe it or not it was b/c the ignition switch was still turned forward a touch too much and the lights in the dash stayed on and the blinkers wouldn't work.. Make sure that the key returns all the way to the "run" position if it happens to you again. Weird thing to have happen.
Thanks for telling me that! I have never had this happen to me before, and I couldn't figure out why in the heck this happened! I think something in my ignition is screwed up anyways, because even with lights off and keys out, my dinger still goes off with the door open. I can spin the metal piece around a few times and it will stop dinging. So this definately would be an explanation! Thanks again friend!
You do know that it is SUPER EASY to change the ignition cylinder right? Might take you 10 minutes... TOPS.. Mine used to spin around like that and finally somebody was messing around with it spinning it while I was out riding 4 wheelers and then my key wouldn't spin it.. Ended up with a broken key in the ignition and had to change it. Only like a $20 part too.
