Just curious to see if anyone here has noticed a change at any of the local eating establishments.
I saw on the news that some restaurants are changing "French Fry" to "Freedom Fry", so they don't have to have the F word on the menu. Hooray for them.
I have begun my personal boycott of all things French and German. I know it won't amount to squat, but it makes me feel better. And to all that agree, no more gas from a Total station, they are French owned.
Also, feel free to add any obvious or not so obvious products that can be boycotted due to French or German ownership.

I sure hope your wife or girlfriend never enjoyed that particular type of kissing the French are noted for. Boy, is she gonna be disappointed!
I take it nobody has delt with the French? I learned to hate those *********s a long time ago, it didn't take the current political situation. It just CONFIRMED IT!
What can you say about the Germans? Their not known for great political decisions on world affairs. nuff said.Thanx
Originally posted by rikfish Not to burst anyone's bubble, but the 'French' fry got it name from the cut of the potato. It was not a 'French' culinary creation.
Ya know, if you boycott French Fries, you're boycotting an American tradition. Has nothing to do with the French.
Now - as for what would Floridians do - this weekend apparently some of the Fla. folks got together and poured French wines down the sewers..... I'm sure most had to go out and try to find something to buy so they could participate, but I wasn't one of them. I drink Budwieser. If not a "Bud" then its a Beringers "Zin" or good ole Jose' for those frozen margarita times. I honestly cannot think of the first "French" product that I purchase anyway so I don't have anything to boycott.

From what we hear up here:
Apparently they are not welcomed there that much, except for their money.
They have ties to France.
In fact, Jacques Shellac once said to the world :" Vive Le Quebec" in favour of separatism for Quebec.
Shhhhhhhhh -
My personal experience with the French Canadians is that they seem to like to flaunt more than spend. This is only coming from my previous years of experience in the retail business so probably doesn't hold much weight. Canadians as a whole are and have been more than polite and considerate. For some reason, it's hard for people to cotton to the ones that think we owe something to them. I have some friends (very gooooood friends) that are French Canadians and they wouldn't trade me for the world. Their own kind, however, is a different story. Even Renee says that he can't see why they have to come down here and be such a........'s. Of course he's telling me this after he's beaten me in a few games of shoes!!!!
Are you guys telling me none of you are going to go out and buy a Renault? Come on, i cant really think of any quality products made in france. You would have to look hard for anything made there. Other than B.O. and bad manners.
