What is Truth? Is truth subjective? Or is truth absolute?
· Depending on which path you take, is there any common basis to truth?
· How do you know if you know truth?
· How can you get truth?
· Is truth even attainable?
· Is it possible to get it and not to understand it?
· What if you don’t accept the truth does that mean that it’s not truth?
· Is truth based on knowledge?
· If so, then more knowledge = more truth?
· Is truth always right?
· Who decides what is truth?
· Is truth relational?
· Lots of paths to wander to, so I'll stick with the opening question, “What is truth?”
This is the topic of all topics and of course my answer is... absolute!

how can there be both? Is it not one way or the other...come on now...I know a lot of you guys can be black /white on subjects....why do we need both? and as I asked waxy, if there is both, how do you know which to listen to and when?
thanks...I taught on it the other night and I think my teachings even surprised some of our "members". I got to thinking...man...Now here is a question for the pig pen group.
funny you should ask that....because that was actually a question I asked our youth the other day...if you find yourself in a situation and speak out the truth...and then a day or two later in different situation it doesn't fit was it truth to begin with?
I haven't voted yet...but I think you guys know where I stand..I believe there is one absolute truth...and this is where my youth kinda freaked on me...
I asked about abortion...they all agreed its wrong. I asked what about if the woman was raped or if it cost the mother her life? then all of a sudden the absolute didn't seem so much so to them. According to that truth, then abortion is wrong no matter what the terms are....
Anyway, there *are* situational truths, and absolute truths. I am not rying to sound argumentative - just assertive - because I have had a lifetime full of them, and I have to think you have too.
Could there BE "light in the loafers" religious leaders that kept their "jobs" if this were not the case?

no setup intended...I'm just curious whether or not the FTE crew believes in absolute truth. I for one do...and because of that...it leads to some very hard solutions. By the same token...it also takes some of the grey issues and puts them back into black and white.
I'm not saying that we haven't screwed up and that many have had a hard time following this "absolute truth". However, I also believe that far too many people believe that the truth is totally based on all the circumstances involved and that what is true today in one situation may be totally false tomorrow in another situation. I believe that this is evident in the society that is rapidly changing around us. yesterday it was true...today it is not...yesterday that was false...today it is true. My question is if you subscribe to the "no absolute truth theory"...when do you know what is true and what isn't? where do you look to for support of the truth? how is it true now and wasn't before?
I have a colorblind friend who went out and bought a shirt. He showed up to a party that night wearing a pretty pink shirt.
When everybody clowned him, he said "What? This shirt is gray!"
True.
Anyway, his girlfriend picks out his clothes for him now.
