Another thing you would want to look at is the intake side of the turbo, Check for dust in the tube and look at the wheel for wear on the edges. A small amount of oil in the tube is normal. If it has a large amount of oil or sludge in the bottom, you have problems with the engine. If the shaft of the wheel moves from side to side, the turbo is going. and would require time and money to repair or replace. Look at the air filter housing to make sure that it is completely intact.

And for the record, I have $500 that David could use.

Yeah Wilson, i didn't even think of any of that, probably because i realize it will be a late 99-01 PSD, and would need a new WW from Clay...lol...or is that just me daydreaming again...

again, this is so awesome...i have said it before, and will continue to say....FTE is 1st, and Best, this is exactly what the internet 2.1 is and should be...my wife thought i was playing some cruel joke on her when i told her about this, she, and my 6 yr old daughter knew how much i loved my old e99, and how much it broke me down to sell it...they understand the reasons why, but looking back, it was a dumb move...let me just elaborate on the woes of our family...i had a decent job back in 2008, had worked there for 3 1/2 yrs, and was constructively terminated, for those that don't understand that, my hours were cut to the point that i could not continue working there, didn't put food on the table...we lost our home, our minivan, all the kids toys, etc...we bought a POS GMC Jimmy and a pop-up camper...we were living in NH...when it started getting cold, we could not get enough heat in it, and had our then 4 yr old little girl and a 6 month old son to think of...to keep from freezing to death, we moved south to Alabama on 9-1-08...someone i met down here let us stay in a TT and we GAVE our pop-up to another family in need...the guy that let us stay in his TT decided to give us that TT and we have lived in it ever since...my wife has volunteered with the State Park since 9-7-08 for our lot rent by cleaning everybody elses crap in the bath houses here...with our '08 tax return, i started a lawn care business and the same friend that gave us the TT bought the first Bit Mo' because the Jimmy would not pull my lawn equipment...i sold the Jimmy and paid him back for Bit Mo'...the lawn company did not ever make any money, everybody that has a lawnmower did the same thing i did when they lost their job...so, i sold the equipment and started towing stuff with Bit Mo'...never made any money doing that either, it was not stable income...one of my mowing customers told me that her husband was in Afghanistan as a contractor and were always hiring, that i would need to get a passport before i applied because the jobs were immediate...along that same premise, my wife could not drive Bit Mo', and we really did not need a truck if i was going overseas...so, i sold the truck and bought this car, got my passport, and began applying for these overseas jobs...well, it's been like 5 months and nothing...not a single phone call...we still live in the TT, but i got a job 2 months ago, finally, with a guaranteed $500 weekly salary + commissions, selling roof jobs with the biggest and best roofing company here in Huntsville...i enjoy my job, and i now have to carry a ladder with me all the time...the ladder does not fit very well in a '95 Olds Aurora...i need a truck, and if i'm gonna go in debt for a truck, i want it to be the truck i want...which is listed in this thread...

Anyway, that's my story...hope it helps some of ya'll know a bit about me and my family...

David, have you just considered a small truck for work. Save some cash and go from there. Sounds like you have a good job now!

We need a pic of the ladder strapped to your car.

David you crack me up! Set your goals and go from there. If I was in your situation IDK if a new truck would be my first choice. If I lived closer I would give you a bear hug.

David, good to see you back brother! Hang in there bud, things are bound to get better...I agree with Grant what if you found like an OBS gasser or something like that? that would be a heck of alot better then you got now...When I read your story i just wanted to comend you for doing what you what you had to to do to provide for your family...I know a TT aint much of a home but its the warmth of family and love that makes a TT a home. On a lighter note You said that as you were typing another PSD rolled in to the park, I myself can remember those days of watching all these PSD or Cummins for that matter roll into my RV park.I wanted a PSD so bad, it would make me green with envy! I will say that my dream has become a reality, and for that I'm very thankful....Good luck in your search and I hope it turns out well for you myfriend!!!!
