I got the 272 running in my 56 last weekend, Just had to share!
She has been sitting for 18yrs.
I will have to say I was a bit suprised she fired after all that time.
So far I have learned the fuel pump leaks and the carb needs rebuilt. I guess this was expected.
That must be a Y Block habit. My 54 acted the same way when it was fired up after 13 years.
Rebuilt the carb and got a fuel pump from NAPA and it was fine.
Thanks for all the good words!
Can you believe I almost yanked her out before she had a chance to speak. I didnt appreciate the coolness of the Y-block right away but thanks to this board I now know what sets them apart from the rest.
