390 carb Trouble
1. Get a Spacer with water jacket?
2. What type of material?
3. Open or 4 hole? ( intake is 4)
My next problem is throttle cable. If I put linkage side of carb facing the firewall My cable pushes the wrong way. Unless I Get a longer cable and mount some brackets around to make it work.
And my kickdown linkage. It was not hooked up to the stock carb. I found it hanging under the truck wrapped up in the parking brake cable (wich was cut) . If anyone has pics of thier setup It would be helpfull.
take alook at clifford performance site for spacer
I don't know how cold a temp you want to run your engine in but the best plan is to tap into no 3 & 5 header tubes and pipe a hot air riser onto your manifold base. this will work in a lot colder weather than the water heated spacer. clifford used to sell a spacer like this.
for throttle cable I located a chev ( I know ) cable off a 96 4.3 vortec it wraps around the front of the v6 on the chev plenty long enough for my linkage.
old fords never die, they just get more fun to fix !
