Its cool to be in this intercooled world yall live in. Love my new truck and works great except... Just bought a 2000 F-250 PSD 6 speed 4X4. I got it off a friend with the condition fixing this problem isnt too much money. Problem, when im driving and I dont mean my foot in it, just cruising the rpm will drop for a split second and then jump right back up cuasing the truck to jerk. I know Im not letting of the gas at all. It happens prolly once every fifty miles or so maybe a lil more. My buddy thought it was a sensor but didnt know for sure. BTW anyone know a site that has what the doorjamb codes stand for? For axle gearing and what not? Thanx you guys are always helpful

First thought on the "issue" is a relatively inexpensive(around $25) CPS (Crankshaft Position Sensor) 10MM 6 point socket about 11 o'clock above the harmonic balancer and its out. x2 on the CPS not a hard change. Call the dealer and see if the CPS recall has been done on your truck. If not see if the dealer will give you the CPS to keep in your truck for a spare.

 

Thanx! You guys are just as helpful as the old PSD forum maybe more. That list for the door code is awesome. Hopefully that CPS is all I need too.

 

Next time it does it, watch to see if any dash lights flash, and if so, which ones. Does the CEL ever come on after the trucks sputters? Don't buy a CPS from the parts stores. Stick with one from Ford or International. Too many failures with the aftermarket stuff. They run about $25 at the dealer.
