So guys, Im presented with this problem for my turbo, nobody in montana will make a new crossover pipe, up pipe and down pipe for this turbo i have. I am struggling with it. The exhaust guys said they cant bend 4" pipe, the biggest he can bend is 3" which is whats on the truck now. Obviously I need something bigger, 3.5 is what i want. Anybody here know anyone who can do it? I would love to get this thing looking and performing how it should haha.
The crossover is 2.5 inch pipe, can they bend that? Also the up-pipe is 2.5 inch pipe too. The DP is 3 inches - so they should be able to bend all of those. What is the main reason they said they can't??
Na, stay with 2.5 inch, you need the flow velocity for turbo spooling. Are the up-pipe really all that bad, can't you just have the crossover and DP redone?
A shop not wanting to do that just sounds like they don't want the headache.
most of the pipes are a mandrel bend (don't crush in the corners when bent) trying to do it yourself can lead to restriction in the bends. unless you can do a mandrel bend. like everyone else was saying just keep stock size on the crossover and such because bigger pipes leads to more turbo lag. the only one that needs upsized is the DP
Try D&B Muffler in Bozeman, they have been able to bend or match anything i need.
(406) 586-5038 I know that it is 200 miles from where you live but might save you alot of time and headache from doing it yourself.
I have this turbo, I was told its wastegated(doesnt seem like it to me), the pic is the lower half of the airbox, you guys can tell better then the guy that sold it to me could, bein in Iraq I had to trust this guy to know his IDI.....I guess maybe not.
