no signs of any leaks, haven't seen any puddles under it and no leak stains anywhere that I can see.(although there's plenty you can't see just looking around.) I never knew you could pack so much clutter under the hood of a truck!
Mine is there from the dealer. From what I read, I think that the newer 09-10 trucks have a different (lower) full line on the bottle. After they did the venturi T retrofit I noticed they had it lower. I haven't added any and neither do they when it goes in for service.
Interesting, I never would have suspected that, thanks for the info. I'll double check with my dealer and see what they say when I go thursday for my new CAC. If their opinion varies from that I'll post it.
Key here is going to be not letting that coolant get below the lower line that feeds into the radiator and EGR coolers.
If they lower line is exposed to air...well then you get air and then you get caviatation.
So be sure of where it is.
So here's a question, on my 08 there is a couple of inches worth of fluid level below the low line, however the pickup hose is just below the low line. This means you might still have enough fluid in the bottle for the system, but the hose is too high on the bottle to pick any of it up. Why the heck didn't they put the pickup hose at a lower position on the bottle? If the risk of cavitation/air in the system is high, seems to me this would be a simple way to prevent any air until you can get some fluid added to the bottle.
