Hello all! My first post here, but I have been viewing the forums for a while. My question is on remote keyless entry for my 2006 F-150.
I purchased the truck back in January, and after signing all of the paperwork asked about the remote entry fob. The dealer attempted to program one, and said apparently my truck did not come with that!
Fast forward to today. It has been eating at me that my 99 Saturn, 02 Ranger both have remote unlock and my 06 F-150 does not. I decided to take the back seat off and take a look, and sure enough I do have a Keyless Entry module with a code (and it matches my code in my owners manual). So is there another piece that is required to allow the use of a remote key fob to lock and unlock the doors?
As a side note, my truck has every option of the "Convenience Package" that was available on 06's, except remote entry! (Has adjustable pedals, rear sliding window, turn signal mirrors, heated mirrors - not sure if they work though) Seems odd to me...
Well, I swear I had tried it before, but I just went out and tried again, and sure enough this time it worked!! So I guess I do have the option!! Now the only - potential - problem, to test, I used the key fob to my Ranger, so now when I unlock using the key fob, both my F150 and Ranger unlock! My fear is I will unlock one, and when I leave, I will foget the other is unlocked.
Also, I didn't think this was supposed to work this way? I thought it would overwrite and allow syncing with one vehicle only...
