Suggested dash kits?

Thinking about replacing the factory stereo on my '08.

I've got a single din pioneer head unit that's going to be replacing the double din factory job.

Can anybody suggest some decent in-dash mounting kits?

Took a look at the two they offer on crutchfield's site...

Lincoln In-dash Receiver Kit Fits select 2006-up models — Chassis size E at Crutchfield.com
is the one I believe I should need.. but definitely want to get some alternate suggestions as the one on crutchfield just looks off to me.

Also looked at
METRA 99-5812 Dash kit for mounting an aftermarket radio Ford/Lincoln/Mercury Multi-Kit 04-Up Under radio pocket Metra\'s patented Snap-In ISO support system Recessed DIN mount DASHKITS; which I suspect is the same thing?

Also.. I've got an old wiring harness from an 01 dodge ram ... what are the odds that's compatible with the ford's wiring setup?

When I got my 07 someone had put in an aftermarket Pioneer system with the adapter kit. The radio seemed to work well, but I just couldnt get past the "non OEM" look. Bought a new pull out 6 disc cd and put it in. never looked back.
Circuit City has decent adapter kits, and they will adapt to whatever you choose. The 'Old" kit will likely not work, and will be pretty much a waste of time.
I personally Love the sound of my OEM system, and wouldnt trade it for anything. This is my .02.

Well upon some further research looks like there are really only 2 choices for the in-dash kits... the Metra unit (which happened to be what crutchfield sells I believe) and a Scosche unit.

Does anybody have any experience with either of those kits on this lineup of F150s? The general consensus seems to be that Scosche makes a better quality product all around?
