I've been getting quite a few requests for info on what the door seal mod is and how to do it. Basically, it is a way to improve the factory door seals against wind noise and rattling. There is a write-up in the tech folder but I'm also adding this video to hopefully provide more information.
I've bought the tubing at Home Depot and Amazon before. This was the first time I found black tubing which is cool and cheaper too. You need 50 feet to do all four doors.
Excellent video... One would think Ford would have designed better door latches by now to prevent the door rattle. I've had this problem on my '98, 04 Explorer and my '05!
Is this a common problem? I didn't notice any noise or rattle on the one I test drove but I realize driving 4 miles isn't enough time to notice those little issues.

You'll notice this more and more as the truck ages. The factory door seals just don't hold up forever and will need some help. This information is nice to know for new truck owners but gets the 3 year old and older owner group really excited.
Where did you find the black tubing? Home Depot? Also it's the 3/8" right?
I've bought tubing at Home Depot, Lowes and Amazon.com. This black tubing is used by scuba divers and can be bought cheap (half price of the others) here: 50 ft Roll 3/8 Surgical Tubing
Did this mod this morning and went pretty smooth until I did the third door and my roll of tubing was spliced with red tape so I did not have enough for the fourth door. Darnit anyways.
