This is taken from the 1973 Owners Manual, pg 67:
General Vehicle Care
Truck Appearance
Your new vehicle has an ACRYLIC ENAMEL FINISH. This is a finish of maximum beauty which in depth of color, gloss retention and durability is superior to conventional automobile finishes.

I find it interesting that different colors within ayear were different paints... shows alot about the paints of the time, they probably couldn't get some colors to work right in some mediums, or get those colors at all in thise mediums...

Interesting to me too that its mainly acrylics... I thought(have/had assumed it at some point no doubt) auto paint was always solvent based high solids stuff... but thats a fairly recent advent from that time line.
