With stock cooling 100 over ambient is normal. I have the 6.0L 26-row cooler and I run around 140ish, up to 165 when it's hot or I'm hammering it...........

That's why a lot of us went with a aftermarket gauge to be more precise on what the real temp is.
I have heard this, but Ford disagrees and my gauge does vary. It will move slightly higher if pulling a load, as it should, and it starts at the bottom and slowly works its way to normal range with driving. I guess some want the actual temp displayed, which is cool, but I hate the look of aftermarket gauges.

The factory gauges never move once warmed up. When towing you will get a hoter temp but if it really starts to move it is to late. I don't care what is said on this subject. I've personally seen this happen more then once. Thats why most of us go to after market gauges no matter what they look like. God Bless, Chet
I do believe in ford products in some cases, but this is one case not to scimp on if towing heavey loads.
