Ok so i have a late 99 PSD and i just recently replaced the IDM and the truck finally started. checked the codes now it is throwing this code. I do have a edge progammer on it. recently the truck has had a starting problem and the wait to start light would not come on (only once in a while it would come on after turning the key on and off a few times) and the truck would start finally. I did have a code that read 1470? i think, that the IDm signal not detected or failure, thats why i replaced the IDM.
What does this code mean? (P0603)
Does this have anything to do with the IDM? Or chip?
This shouldn't be an issue for what you are experiencing. The P0603 Internal Control Module Keep Alive memory (KAM) Error is fairly normal when using a programmer.
As far as having to turn the key on and off a couple of times before it will start it may be a bad contact in the PCM power relay, or the relay in general is bad. Could also be a faulty ignition switch.
So i replaced the pcm power relay and still nothing... so my next question is anyway i can check the ignition switch to see if it's bad? I've been checking all wires and nothing looks bad or any indication they are bad.
I did disconnect the batteries after reinstalling the pcm. so i think im good there now....
other thing when i plug my programmer in to get codes it wont connect unless that WTS light is on... Any ideas???
