My truck got whacked while I was at an intersection on my way home. The guy was nice enough to speed off too. Anyway It looks like this only minus the broken clip. Any steps you go through to put those clips back in or just use some really long needle nose pliers. Also both the rubber boots are on the glass side of it if that matters. I found the TSB on here. I pulled off the back cover and found a chunk of the nylon bolt that secures the glass. Is there anyway I can buy this piece? I'm assuming this happens alot.
The mirrors are only sold complete from Ford as far as I am aware. It is too bad that I am not at the shop anymore as I had a drivers mirror that was getting lonely. The nylon piece you are looking for sounds like it belongs threaded into the electronic adjuster so I think you may have to use a local salvage yard or car-part . com. The teepee looking deals just pop back in, and the large white plastic stud in the center of the housing matches the ball detent on the back of the glass...
Well, the ball isn't really designed to pop out I reckon but rather to allow a pivot for the glass assembly. You may try the dealer, but you more than likely will be looking for a new assembly
