What did you do to the X today?
well I changed my drivers side ball joints today, I do believe they might be original. Everything fought me tooth and nail today. I will attempt the passenger side tomorrow. I left my ujoints in because they seemed good and everything should be easier to remove now in case I do have to change them later. Wish me luck.
Got mine all hooked up to the little trailer, pulling my 4 wheeler to the inlaws for a 5 day vacation from work.... so I will riding in the mountains for a few days.... But I did change the oil and get the X ready for the 400 mile trip.
i wish my day could just be looking.......
reinstalled the rest of the turbo and intercooler pipes and started it up checking for leaks.
Missing mine today. One nice thing about storing vehicles is when you pull them out in spring you get a nice warm feeling inside like the first day you bought and brought it home.
Replaced passenger front and lower ball joints. Replaced the ujoint with a grease zerk. i also changed out the sway bar bushings and put moog sway bar end links with grease zerks. I found an exhaust hanger that had rusted off so it was rattling and filled my tire with air. It had a slow leak. Hopefully I can install my Hella black magics sometime next week.
Stripped and re-painted the rain channel on the passenger side roof.
Another Excursion owner alerted me to this potential problem in a different thread on this forum, and sure enough, when I looked I found the paint had started to chip away. Thankfully the metal hadn't started rusting yet.
Took me about 3 hours total.
