Fuel Pump Problem

Fuel Pump Problem

i believe my fuel pump is out, but im aware my pump sits inside my tank due to a modification my brother did when he was still here. now my question is would it be a stock fuel pump or aftemarket?

It would be an after-market pump. The stock pump is not designed for immersion in fuel.

Yes,there are several site on line but what are you going back with?The same thing?I would get the pump back on the outside.Easier to deal with if it goes down.You could do the in tank mods and mount your new pump outside....Just athought.

I think kwikkordead put his inside the tank. I prefer mine outside the tank.
I have an Airtex E2236. Rated to 110 psi. I like it.
Available at Autozone,Advance,Oreillys etc..

I went with a Walbro GSL 392. It can be found on Ebay but make sure it is a real Walbro and not a knock-off. My install LINK

Not necessarily. It's really just your own preference. Having the pump in the tank will keep air from getting into the fuel system, but the in-tank mods can also help keep air out of the fuel system.

My Walbro is on the frame rail for easier install and/or replacement. My preference since I had already done the in-tank mods.

How can you tell the knock offs apart from the real ones?

keep what you got if your not going for more then 400 HP...IMO that set up you have is the best stock set up for a slightly moded truck..no air can get in... plus the life of the pump will last alot longer, because it will only be made to do what a pump is made to do....push fuel.. not pull it...
