I am sorry I have not been here alot lately. I have been getting ready for RRE and had other family things that required my attention more than FTE. Sorry.
But here goes. Back to the hood stack thingy.
I know most of you have seen Cody's stack on his sled puller. Now for one on a DD truck. Well it is on for now, I can't leave it on forever. I don't know the cops that well. LOL
It is another 8" stack on an OBS. Thanks to Cody for the pipe and metal.
Also thanks to Cody, I am DRD member #40. I have kept it a little secret for awhile and it has been killing me. I wanted to make a big showing at RRE. I believe I did that. LOL.
I am pretty sure it was one of the most popular trucks and by far the most original. OBS representing! Gotta show them SD's what we can do. Let them boys know they aren't always all that!
More pics:
OOPS is that OBS in the lead?
These are all just fun shots and alot of thanks to rubberduck for helping me make this happen.
Nice looks really good. I like the tailpipe still attached that would mess with some ppl. What kinda power did it put down on the dyno and times did ya run.
On dyno 418 HP
Runs were from 10.8 something to 10.9 something at 74 mph. (1/8 mile track)
I was launching in 2WD, had a load of firewood in the back, Tires were still aired up to 60 psi from hauling the camper and the airbags still had air in them and I have major wheel hop from no traction bars.
No doubt I could have done better but I just wanted to run for the heck of it. Blow a little smoke on the SD's. LOL
I won 4 out of 8 races but most was lost due to my inexperience at the track. See that was my first time down a strip. My first couple of launches were at too low RPM. I had to try and figure out what was best to launch at. As it turns out 3000 RPM is the best otherwise she falls on her face at the line.
All in good fun though. I did get alot of compliments about my shifting though. Some said it sounded like an automatic. I missed 3rd in one run, lost that one. I missed 4th in another and still won that one. LOL. WoooHooooooooo!!!
Looks great Neal! Man, this was a long time coming from the Virginia trip. The stack looks great, I'm glad we finally covered all the criteria to have you as our Inmate #40. That makes me happy!!! Your makin' us proud up there, well done.
HAHA!!! Me and Carl talked about the possibility of this happening last weekend on the way to Whataburger!!!! I just didn't think it'd happen since your truck is a daily driver. Do you happen to have any videos of the races??? I'm VERY interested to see how your launching your truck. I have probably 70 passes on my truck and it STILL doesn't launch right(3.0 second 60' times...)!!! looks good Neal, glad to see you got a DRD sticker, you deserve it!!
