No more leaks, ever. The bellows are a flexible joint that allow some movement in the pipe as things heat/cool. Trouble is there isn't an affordable kit for our trucks like their is for the late SD's, and when you go to a custom turbo setup like Neal runs you are on your own as well.
I think you can get them for the stock setup but not 100% sure. I di know they make then for the SD's. They do have an advantage to no more leaks but $$$$$.
If you stay with the stock setup you are very limited to turbo upgrades.
You can upgrade to SD setup to open the door a little to upgrades but you are still somewhat limited. Or just get the turbo you really want and figure out if/how to do bellowed pipes.
Neal, don't jump the gun on what I said. The brass donuts after install have to be run through a heat cycle and then retightened. I'll be damned if I can get my fat hands in there from the top or the bottom to retorque them! I tried long extensions from the bottom and removed the DP at the top, no luck. When I first got them I broke one just trying to get it on the uppipe but Bean sent me another one. They said to heat up the donut and they will go on. I had a heck of a time just doing that. Looking back I wish I would have just gotten the, excuse me, chevy ones and put them on. Travis, do I need a different kind of pedestal? I got the one without the EBPV.

OBS bellowed up pipes are BIG MONEY. At least twice what the SD ones are.
Somewhere there was a website that you could order your own bellows and weld them in, but I'm not sure on the stockers if there would be room for a bellow section or if you'd have to reconfigure some bends.
Thats not bad, I had trouble keeping my times consistent, one run would be a 2.5 the next 2.7 -2.9 and that was with a six spd in an 05 quad cab dually. I think Travis needs to put slicks on his truck and that would help his times alot!! As far as representing DRD I am sure that you will do a great job !!!
LoL. it needs somethin, not sure what though. I'm going to revise some of the stuff on my bars, change shocks, and pull the lift blocks out of the rear to see what that does for my launches in Crandall this year. I just can't keep the tires on the ground so i have to launch at idle pretty much. I haven't tried launching at real high RPM for fear of carnage, but maybe i will try it one day. Fastest 60' from mine was at the DRD drag day(stock truck) and it was 2.7 seconds.
Glenn, my kit is not for the stock style turbos. It's for bigger turbos.
Neal, check out Carson Stauffer Diesel. I'm pretty sure that they make a nice H2E kit. Not sure if the uppies will bolt straight in place of yours, but IIRC they were bellowed. Also i'm pretty sure his kit was significantly cheaper than Hypermax's mounting kit, but i don't remember. Something to look into for sure though. beats the donuts big time!!!
Chase, there are quite a few places you can buy bellows from and they really aren't all that expensive. I would switch to an aftermarket mounting option though before i messed with the factory stuff.
Thanks Travis, I was a little worried there for a second that I would have to buy something else. Did you ever get your intake leaks fixed? Is there an aftermarket intake that's better then stock? Thanks
Carson Stauffer kits are still $1300. Murff Performance is selling them for around $500.
Murff's kits are not for an H2E. If you was to mount an H2E on the kit i got from Murff it would throw the turbo up into the cowl b/c of how the turbine housing on the H2E is oriented. Carson's kits are T4i, Murff's kits are T4. I'm wondering if you could just use Carson's uppipes with your Hypermax kit.
What turbo are you gonna be running with the T4i Travis? What kinda boost and power you expecting? Still sticing with the II's or planning to go with hybrids or bigger nozzles later on?
