ok, according to the Midtronics tester.....the diode ripple is normal. Show the alternator would not be the culprate.
At least that's one other possible problem checked and eliminated. I will take the kick panel off by the e brake tonight and see what the harness and connection looks like.
I was just thinking that the cab was off also to replace the head gaskets so I will double check the bulkhead connections at the firewall as well.
Well I'm not making any progress. I have inspected and shifted around the wire harness, from the transmission forward. It didn't make a difference. here is the best part, about an hour after I did that and drove the truck the light stopped flashing and it runs like a million dollars again.
This is getting very frustrating, I would have to lean toward the wire harness or the TCM itself.
I am having just about the exact same issue with my 2006 250. I was just wondering if you ever tracked down the cause of the problem on your truck. It sure would be helpful in looking mine over. I have also checked over all the wiring, replaced the sensors, and had the alternator tested like you stated in your posts.
Yes, sorry I did forget to post the follow up from it. There is a wire harness from the trans to up by the firewall that needs to be replaced. Once I finally got ahold of it all my issue were fixed. Truck ran like a million dollars.
Is that the harness that runs from the trans and plugs in on the passenger side or the drivers side? I haven't been able to find a new harness online (I have been trying to locate one for a couple of days now). Where were you able to track one down?
Dealer only part, have to go through Ford. It's been a couple years now, but I think it plugs in on the right side, goes over the top and connects on the left side by the brake booster. It wasn't very much money for the part, and only took about an hour to change out
Alright... good stuff. Thanks for the info, and hopefully this will fix my truck as well. It has definitely been a long and annoying process trying to chase down that gremlin.
