Once a week, I drive to a client's shop to do their accounting (5 miles from my office), but for the rest of the week all year, my commute is the distance from the top of the stairs to the bottom.

We own a piece of property with multiple apartments on it and one home we rent out and are living above our commercial space office in one of our apartments. I love this in the winter time. We bought a piece of property (3.5 acres) 3 miles from our property now in which we will be building our new home over the next few years . We hope to get in there, without a mortgage (pay cash as we build), by the time our child(rend) are still pretty young, maybe 2-3 years from now.

Very nice.....there's an interesting discussion on the dent threads of whether or not the older vehicles should be warmed up before being driven, how warm should it be, what if you have a short commute where it doesn't get up to operating temp, what if it's being stored, etc., etc, etc. It's interesting to hear all the opinions that vary so much.

Well one thing I know for sure is my exhaust system rusts out quicker because of the moisture build up not being burned out because of my short commute.

I remember back in the 50's my father would let the car run for at least 5 minutes before we went anywhere.

Then once in awhile he'd travel on the highway and floor it, to push out the carbon as he would say it.

Good afternoon!!!

First, Ken!!! Are you crazy??? Having a baby at home!!! LOL. I'm just joking. Its whatever works for you. We will be at Maine Medical. I feel safe there with it being one of the best hospitals in the country.

I have 25+ mile to work. One way is about 45 min. typical. Sometimes an hour during the summer... Winter is going to suck.

Nope Maine med in portland is one of the best hospitals in the country. I know out of three I have been to, it is the best in this state.

Too bad their ratings aren't your estimate. I wouldn't take a dead dog there.

I lived in Portland and had been a patient there 3 times and was thankful I got out of there alive.

The talk on the street is Maine med, go in alive and come out dead.

It's your life man.
