You can also put in a chunk of clear radiator hose and watch for bubbles passing by. That's what we do on our semi.
And coolant contaminated oil can cause premature ring wear and oil usage.

White smoke=coolant/water leaking into cylinder. The OP also stated that the engine is also using oil. There is a probability that the white smoke and oil usage is linked. And coolant contaminated oil could be that link. And it wouldnt be necessary for a large readily noticeable amount of coolant to contaminate the oil-a small amount could cause this trouble.

Ring wear wouldnt account for the white smoke at high RPM-but a bad head gasket,cracked head/block would. Or a factory oil cooler that is leaking a small amount of coolant into the oil.

Well it uses about 3/4 quart of oil on a 80 min drive at 75. That could be normal i guess, but even that, i have to put about a quart every 10-14 days of city driving and towing.

I will get to the pressure testing tomorrow as i am trying to get moved out ofmy current house and into another. Thank you for all your input guys
