You receive a "Limited or no connectivity" message on a computer that is connected to the Internet by a DSL modem or by a cable modem after you install Windows XP Service Pack 2 You could try here untill some of the experts chime in.

How old is the router?? Maybe just showing it's age..
You can also try uninstalling your network card and reinstall..
That has worked for me in the past.. In fact the last one was an Acer laptop with a wireless card..

Thanks. I've searched the support stuff and did not find anything that worked. I thought I did, but it only worked for a day.
The router is less than a year old. When the old one (several years old) went bad we all had trouble connecting. Now it's just me.

Just goto device manager..
Find the network card and delete it.. If it asks you to remove the driver say no.
Then at the top action menu there should be an option to scan for hardware changes.. Do that and it will reinstall itself..
You will then have to recreate the wireless connection..
Should only take a few minutes

OK, tried that. After the uninstall / re-install, the computer could not find my router and said there was a problem with my wireless network card. Repeated the uninstall / re-install a few times just to see with the same results.
Thank the good Lord for system restore. Also thanks to the genius working for Bill Gates that decided an "undo" button was a worthwhile feature.

I have never seen a problem deleting and reinstalling a network driver, but there's always a first time..

The Inspiron 1521 runs a dual-core processor (Dell built those with both Intel Core 2 Duo's and AMD Turion 64 X2's) - anybody know if they came standard with Vista x64 or not? That could be the problem right there if it's x64 and trying to run either a 32-bit driver or one that is not quite compatible with a 64-bit environment...

Would the driver somehow have updated itself to the wrong one and I need to try and roll it back? Seems like I tried rolling back the driver once with no luck.
It's getting old having to re-boot the router every time I want to get on the internet.

If you think it's a driver issue, I'd maybe suggest uninstalling/removing the driver for that device and install a fresh driver from here:
