It quit with only 350 miles on the truck (2010 F-150). It is like the vehicle does not have it any more. None of the sync functions respond. I swapped the fuse and it made no difference. I took it to the dealer and they couldn't figure out what the problem was. They supposedly ordered a new module but that was a couple days ago and they still don't have it (glad I didn't leave the truck with them like they suggested). Anyone heard of this kind of issue with sync or have any idea what the cause might be?
FWIW, sounds like you're just experiencing "infant mortality" of an electronic device. Unfortunately, it happens. Typically, if an electronic device is going to fail, it will fail early. Most electronic manufacturer's perform a variety of burn in and other tests that aid in screening out devices or assemblies that have this sort of problem. But nothing in manufacturing screens out 100% of all potential defects.
I wouldn't worry to much about it. When your dealer finally gets the module all should be fine. Assuming it was the module that is the source of the problem.

What choo talkin' 'bout, Willis?
My complaints with Sync are that it cant hear me if theres any wind noise from an open window or if the A/C is on high, the volume is SO low when using it to make calls that I always have to crank it all the way up just to hear, and it cant seem to understand the most simple names in my phone book (I.E. "Bill")

X2 then try and give a street address (impossible) I'm close to just pulling the fuse on the damn thing..........
After I had the mirror microphone replaced under the TSB and got a decent phone (i.e., the phone's BT is a lot better) my Sync system works great: clear voice on calls; easily make calls from the phonebook; easily select palylists, albums, and artists; and easily enter destinations by voice.

my dealer knew nothing of the tsb (didn't surprise me) so I tried to locate the TSB? mines a 2010 F 150 XLT

Strange thing is that I've always been able to make a phone call through the phone book while I was moving. I don't know if they did some type of override or what, but I've always been able to do it. Might have just been a fluke, I don't know.
I would have to disagree though with the POS comment. I have dealt with a lot of systems that are OEM, some of those vehicles cost quite a bit more then my 150 and this one is by far the best one that I've dealt with.

I think he's talking about using the NAV screen to page through the phone book.

Lockpick is the only way.
That's what I was talking about as well. I don't have a problem and I'm doing 45 mph or greater when I am using the touchscreen. I just keep my phone in the pocket, it's not out to where I can use it unless for some reason I don't have bluetooth hooked up. Which is really really really rare.
Edit: Just to make sure I'm doing what he is asking about. I hit the phone button on the dash. Then on the screen I hit phonebook. Then I hit a group of letters. I might hit it a time or two more, depends on what letter I'm trying to get to. Then I hit the name. If multiple numbers, I hit the number I need(or want) and then I hit dial. Everything except the phone button is done on the truck's screen. I don't use the phone button on the steering wheel except when I'm trying to re-dial the last number, in which case, I hit that button twice.
I've noticed the system will let you search/press/scan for either 1) a certain amount of time or 2) a certain number of presses, but eventually it will lock you out and make the features are disabled announcement over the speakers.

Maybe you haven't hit the limit yet?
That could be possible. I don't know why they would allow a time limit at all, if the argument is for safety reasons. I know Lexus doesn't let you do it once you hit over a certain speed. Go under and you're golden.
LOL - for some reason I'm having a hard time explaining what I mean.
I'm not saying it's time. I'm saying when you're travelling more than 20 MPH, the system will let you press buttons for either a number of presses or for a certain amount of time - but I haven't figure it which one is the limit.
The wife (riding shotgun) was playing around with it and hit the limit a few times, but she wouldn't conduct the official test to determine the actual limit.
I suspect that is the case. I'm also wondering if it "resets" that limit after you go back under the speed limit and you try to press the button again. Reason why I wonder, is that in the same drive without putting the tranny in park, I might make 2 or more calls. So I wonder if no button has been pressed for a set amount of time or if there is a period of idle between the last time a button was pushed, it resets whatever limit it has.
While we are on this, I remembered that I'm also able to "explore" the USB jump drive that I have connected to either USB 1 or USB2, while I'm also cruising as well. That also seems to "reset" itself, because that would also be something that I would do multiple times in a drive cycle.
