There is a tsb about sync being inop and the battery draing down. The fix is to reprogram the module, or if the module dosn't respond, replace the APIM. Take it to your dealer to get it fixed.
My complaints with Sync are that it cant hear me if theres any wind noise from an open window or if the A/C is on high, the volume is SO low when using it to make calls that I always have to crank it all the way up just to hear, and it cant seem to understand the most simple names in my phone book (I.E. "Bill")
Check your "in-call" volume. Yes, the female voice will be louder, but you don't have to scream into the microphone either. That's what mine was in my car, and my truck.

How do I go about doing that? I had looked through the manual and I dont remember seeing how. Thanks for replying! And yes, lol, I do have to scream at it

It's on your phone. call your (in)significant other and turn the volume up during the call (not using Sync)...then try it.
not really. I tried to crank the volume in my blackberry up all the way then I tried to make calls with sync and its about the same. Thank you for your help though
It quit with only 350 miles on the truck (2010 F-150). It is like the vehicle does not have it any more. None of the sync functions respond. I swapped the fuse and it made no difference. I took it to the dealer and they couldn't figure out what the problem was. They supposedly ordered a new module but that was a couple days ago and they still don't have it (glad I didn't leave the truck with them like they suggested). Anyone heard of this kind of issue with sync or have any idea what the cause might be?
Mine vanished as well. 09 FX4. Sync went bye bye, not even the voice command button on the steering wheel worked. Found other posts with this problem and everyone just disconnected the battery terminal and then reconnected it. I did it and everything is back to normal.
thought I would bring this thread up. My 2010 which is 2 months old has had the same problem. Sync worked perfect then all of the sudden yesterday all sync functions dont work. You cant even access the sync menu. Anyone else had this issue?

Quite a few people have experienced the issue.
Try pulling the Sync fuse for 2-3 minutes.
If this doesn't work, contact Sync tech support or the dealer.
I called the ford dealership today on what to do. They said to disconnect battery for 5 minutes and then retry it. I did that and now my sync works. Hopefully this doesnt happen to often.

Glad it worked!
I find it much easier to perform an automotive-based CTL-ALT-DEL by pulling the Sync fuse.
