Quarter window adhesive seperation
I would try using something like jb weld. Just prep as per there instructions, open the window up, glue and then I would clamp it together for the specified drie time. You should be good to go, and a cheaper alternative to try. If it doesn't work, you might just have to replace.
I wasn't that surprised ther glass shops didn't want to atempt a repair that wasn't covered in their books. In this day and age with all the liability law suits and everything I am sure they were just running scared. Anyway, I found a small town Ford dealer that told me of a similar problem with the Explorers a few years ago that was covered by a recall. The parts manager looked up the info and found that Ford spec'ed a product called "Fusor 143" along with a glass primer "Chemlok 144". I look the products up online and they are not that expensive, but they require a special applicator gun so I am looking for a body shop or glass shop that has the appropriate tools.
You know overall I am really happy with the Ex. Pulls nice, handles large loads and lots of people. But I bought it about 6 months ago for a song, had I bought it new and paid the outrageous sticker price Ford was asking for these new I would be VERY upset with the quality of the vehicle. The fit and trim quality and the body rattle and shake is something I would expect from a bargain basement product rather than a $40,000.00 product. I have owned multiple F250 Superduties and love the breed. I have owned V8 gas, V10's and 7.3 diesels, all 2WD and other than front suspension issues have loved every one of them. All the SD's were XL trim and I never had the interiors rattle, vibrate or fall apart the way this Excursion does. I really wish Ford would have made an XL "School Bus" package the way Chevy does for the Suburbans.
