Differences between rear quarter vented windows

I had to have my drv side rear quarter glass replaced recently however it does not match the pass side. The new window is outlined in "tint while the old window is full factory tint.

I noticed while looking up the glass on carparts website it listed the options for the glass as "privacy or "tinted and privacy with aux ac or without.
Does anybody know the difference between them?

Btw I have a 98 Eddie bauer w/o rear ac.
BTW here is difference im talking about
Old window

New window

In short they gave you the wrong window cause our trucks are old and its about time to use the "one part fits all" method..lol

Expy's with no power windows (Rear-A/C) should look like this (tint, privacy or clear)

Expy's with Power windows but (no rear A/C) OR (Lower Center Rear Console A/C-Vents with 2nd Row Airflow Only- with Sunroof) OR Trucks purchased without the optional 3rd row seat- should look like this (tint & privacy only)

Lastly, Expy's with Privacy, Power, Full rear air (and no integrated antenna) look like this. Carlite tempered (sunroof delete) (tint & Privacy)

Notice the C-pillar is much larger on Expy's with Rear Air w/ sunroof delete, so it covers up most of that black protective surround. This is due to duct work and additional electronics..
Even if you look at the base model with rear air and power window delete, you will notice the pillar is bigger than the Luxury model w/o rear a/c. Technically your truck should look like the middle picture.

I believe they gave you a Power W/ Rear AC w/ Privacy with no antenna because that's probably all they make or want to make..lol

Also, keep in mind things change again after 2000 model year.

Oh and one more thing, The difference between Tinted and Privacy

I don't know why the hell ford did this, but you could get the clear glass of course (no power).

Or for the poor people that couldn't afford the Privacy option..lol Ford so kindly gave you the option of Factory power glass WITH Tint, I'm sure you've seen Expeditions with rear glass where you could see the dark outline of the glass even on the lift-gate. I forget the exact percentage, but you could still see into the vehicle up-close and it was more for sun-protection..

This is glass with integrated factory Tint:

And of course the Luxurious Privacy-tint option..lol

And the elusive clear window beast

If you have some OCD kicking in and you really want to address this, you probably have two options. Look for the correct glass in the used parts market or simply tint all your back windows to minimize the difference in appearances.

Disclaimer: Local laws may restrict the latter option. Why am I doing a disclaimer?
